Welcome to the creative project for May! This month we’re going to celebrate Mermay without the mayhem.
If you’ve ever wanted to participate in Mermay but felt it was just too overwhelming, this project is for you.
Oh, and did I mention this project is free for everyone?
That’s right, we’re doing something a little bit different this month! Instead of just having one project, we have two!
The first project is what I’m calling 5-Minute Mermay. It’s a way to participate in Mermay without having to commit to quite as much, just 5 minutes a day, in fact.
And it’s not just for illustrators either. If you’re a writer, hand letter, pattern maker, or just like to sketch in your sketchbook — it’s got something for you!

The second project is for paid subscribers only. I’ve created a special mini version of a Sketchbook Snack themed just for Mermay! In this sketchbook snack, we’ll be creating some fun, loose watercolor mermaids and having fun mixing some dreamy colors together.
