Summer Creative Retreat 2026
Hello hello, friends!
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve shown up in your inbox/feed. In fact, the last time I wrote to you was when I created this comic about taking a hibernation from the internet!
I actually still really love that comic, now that I’m looking at it again eight months (yikes) later 😂!
Turns out my hibernation wasn’t quite over. Please forgive my absence, I think I just got internet/social media/content creation burn out and needed a wee reset. Now that I am officially picking up the keyboard again, I’ll be writing more about how life has been going, the good and the bad, and what I’ve been up to since we last chatted in the next week or so.
For now, I wanted to drop in to tell you that it’s almost time for Summer Creative Retreat and I’ll be teaching a workshop again this year!

Summer Creative Retreat is the biggest, free, online art event of the year, hosted by Peggy Dean aka The Pigeon Letters. Every summer she gathers a group of artists from a variety of disciplines from all over the world and organizes a week of free workshops, community, creativity, and so much fun!
Here’s a quick rundown of the details:
⭐ August 1-6, 2026
⭐ Daily workshops on a wide variety of creative topics, taught by 50+ artists, from 9AM ET to 8PM ET each day of the event.
⭐ FREE access to the live events, PLUS access to the replays until 1 week after the event (so you have a chance to catch up on everything you want to see if you can’t make them live!)
⭐ Optional purchase of Permanent Vacation Pass gives you lifetime access to the replays and a goodie bundle packed with things like Procreate brushes, workbooks, and bonus videos from the instructors.
It’s one of my favorite events of the year. I’ve been attending as a student for years, and I taught a workshop for the first time just last year (I’m so happy to be back again this year!)
I actually made a big, long post a couple of years back showing all the art I made during the event as a student (spoiler alert: it’s a LOT of art!)

My workshop will be on the first day of the event, August 1 at 10AM ET. I’ll be teaching you ways to start your art sessions off with some lighthearted, silly warm ups to help you overcome art block, get over that blank page hurdle, and help you stick with your drawing habit!
